Default Problem with data access on 7100v

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everybody.

My father-in-law just gave me an BB 7100v (from vodafone).

I already have a suscription with a french provider (SFR), and I would like to use it with my BB.

When I turn wireless on, I find my GSM network, but the data connexion is refused.

I Asked the SFR call center to have a solution, but they explained to me I must have the "live!" vodafone icon to configure my data access; but I don't have this icon.

I already got information like IP address, port or APN, but I don't know how to have this icon.

Could anybody help me?

Thanks in advance.

PS : Excuse me for my english, it isn't my mother language.

You MUST have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account for it to work. Without a BlackBerry Data Plan all you can get is voice and SMS, and it will show the Data Connection Refused error message.

I really sorry, but I'm a newbie with BB, and I don't what Data Plan means.

For information, I have a data access in GPRS from my provider with my old mobile phone (bought in a SFR pack, and preconfigurated by SFR).

Can I find somewhere a firmware with this icon?

Thanks NJBlackBerry for your quick answer.

There is a special data plan that you must have for the BlackBerry. Other data plans or GPRS plans do not work with a BlackBerry. You must call SFR and tell them you want a BlackBerry Data Plan (that's the name of it). It will cost extra.
