I'll begin by saying that I have been searching the forums for over an hour and cant nail down exactly what my problem is... ironically there is TOO MUCH information here to try and sort through (more of a good thing than a bad thing, but a bad thing for me).

I own the BB7100i and have successfuly installed the Desktop Manager on my Laptop. I have ZERO experience using PDA's and this is my first Blackberry. I have made a back-up of my BB onto my PC but the file is not recognized by any of my programs. Also, the application Finder dealeo doesnt seem to find anything eaither... maybe I'm using it wrong?

My problem is this: how do I find the PIM in my MS Outlook 2003 and sync it to my BlackBerry? .... or to be more specific; how do I sync with Outlook, period?

A brief explaination will do just fine as I consider myself to be very IT litterate. Unfortunately I fooled with this for 2 hours last night and didnt get anywhere.... the pride is hurting with every passing moment folks; please help.

Once your Desktop software is installed, it should just be a matter of connecting your BB via the sync cable to a USB slot on you computer. Then doubleclick on the Desktop Manager icon on your desktop, and the sync process should start.

All you appointments, tasks, memos and contacts will automatically be synced over to your BB, and they will be listed on the home screen with icons for the individual types of data i.e. Contacts, appointments, etc.

Ok thanx. I thought it would be more complex than that but I wont complain. Its possible that I need to resync with outlook closed cause I had the BB plugged in all night last night wihile working in outlook and nothing happened.

Thanx for the thought but it didnt help. When I plug in the BB it starts the sync... but then it says "no applications configured for syncronization"

How do I tell the Desktop Manager to look for Outlook files? Does it make a difference if the drives on my laptop are partitioned? (they are and desktop manager in not on c: with outlook)

I figured it out. I hadnt found the PIM settings in the intellesync menu. Thanx again.

so this really has nothing to do with your problem, just wanted to comment....i have the exact same problem with 'too much info'. everytime i come on here to look for something i always end up side-tracked and researching something totally different than what i originally wanted to research
