Default Browser Emulation Is Your Friend!

BlackBerry's 8700 is such a well sought out Web browsing device that it makes me want to sing its praises as much as possible. I didn't necessarily buy my BB for this, but have learned to fall in love with what can only be referred to as its 'impressive array of Web browsing prowess'. Plainly put, I have never had such a positive experience browsing the Web on a handheld device as I have on my 8700C. In the case of a rare roadblock or other potential stumbling point, more times then not I have resolved the issue through the different Browser EMU modes that are available. For those of you that are a little shy on this learning curve, let me tell you that Browser Emulation can do wonders for an otherwise suspect session of Web surfing. A recent example comes to mind: My bank's Website claimed it did not support my browser when I tried to login via remote session on my BB. I was like 'sh*t... this device does everything and does it well and now this?!' At the time, browser emu was far from my thoughts. Looking back, I wished it wasn't as I even went as far as to call the bank's 'Online Customer Support' division and demand answers from what I presume was a rather fetching young female, sans flow control, logic and the common decency to answer my call in a timely fashion. Ladies, politically over-correct types... PLEASE, no E-Mail's. Anyway, long (winded) story short, I eventually had some odd and yes, rather peculiar revelation and decided to switch my browser EMU mode to IE (from its default 'BlackBerry' setting). It worked like a charm and the rest is history.

Quite a few of you already know this and I tip my hat to you if you went ahead and read this far anyway. But as a newb, I gotta tell you though, I was pretty damn happy to learn of this and hope someone else can benefit from this platforms versatility.

Strangest damn thing. I'm having dinner the other night with Charles Manson... all of a sudden he stops eating and says, 'Is it hot in here, or am I crazy?' -GG
