Default 7130c's Keyboard

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone- I recently took a look at the new 7130c on the website but i am a little curious about something considering the market RIM is going after how much of a difference is there with the 7130's keyboard compared to the keyboard of the 8700 or 7290. Is it equally as fast as the other two mentioned? OR is it along the same lines as T9 text that is available in most cell phones today?

There are a lot of discussions on here about SureType, but I can also tell you from personal experience, going from a 7250 to 7130 that it can work well. The best advice I got was to just type and not look at what you are typing as you go - it is pretty amazing how quickly the device will figure out what you are typing. If not, it will learn as you go. One important thing is to clean out the custom word list often. Overall, it is about personal preference.

it obviously wont be as fast and accurate as a full thumbpad, but in my experiance using sure type is almost as fast for me as using the keyboard on my pc, esspecially once you have added custom replacments to autotext to replace shortcut names with the full thing or common miss spellings. But the 7130 does have the advantage of being a smaller form factor, so its more size over speed.
