Default 8700 R? G? C?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

i am currently on Canadas GSM provider, Rogers and want to make teh plunge and buy a Blackberry.

I know rogers sells the Blackberry R, but how is this different form the C? or G? or other 8700 models?

If I can get an unlocked version of any of the GSM 8700 series, which one shoudl I get? Which model is best for which user?

Can i only get the 'R' becasue that is what rogers is selling?

Thanks for your answers, they are very much appreciated

They're all the same but for cosmetic differences. The advantage of getting the R from Rogers is that it will have a warranty. These are delicate devices; I am on my third. If you buy an unlocked one on eBay: (a) pray it works and (b) pray it is still working 3 months down the road.
Just my two cents; some have apparently had great success foregoing a warranty and saving money.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

If you get the device unlocked then any of them will work. As far as which one is better.. They are all the same except for the color of the case and slight design curves. Personally I like the G because its dark colored.

The R is also dark. I'd love to see the G in person to make a comparison. The lines are definitely different. But you have a hard time coming upon one up here.
