Default Unkown ICON on new 8700G

Please Login to Remove!

I've bene struggling to get my email set-up to sync with my 8700G (Tmobile) and I've noticed a small icon in the upper right hand side of the screen just below the left side of the "EDGE" icon.

It looks like a sheet of paper witha down arrow inside it and what appears to be a "1" next to the paper. It appears to indicate that 1 of something is downloading but nothing is downloading and I have no pending emails or messages. I've looked int he manual and all over this forum for an indication of what this icon means but I can't find a reference to it anywhere.

Any ideas?

BTW, my company refuses to even consider supporting BES yet I need to sync-up with their email and it's only available from Exchange on their domain...any ideas?

I think it's a pushed browser message indicator. If you have signed up to get weather updates pushed to you, when you receive a new one I think that is the indicator that shows up on your screen.

Agreed. And sometimes people are getting it without knowingly having signed up. Go to Blackberry Extras in your Browser and you will probably find in the Push Services section that you are subscribed. You can then unsubscribe from there.

Thanks for the quick responses - I checked this and it was the browser push for local weather that I set-up...I couldn't find this icon documented anywhere so thanks for the help...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I think you can have the push delivered as an email in place of a browser push if that works better for you..
