Default wav files BES and handheld version

Please Login to Remove!

I had read in one of the posts that it is possible to play wav files on the 8700 BB provided the handheld o/s version was greater than 4.1.0.194.
Apparently, I cannot find that post however; I did find a post which said that wav files could be successfully played with BES 4.1

Has anyone upgraded to BES 4.1?

Our BES version is 4.1 and we also installed a new handheld o/s from T-Mobile Europe version 4.1.0.286 on my BB.

Apparently, we still get a unrecognized document format when we try to open our wav (voice mail) attachment!. Will installing the Bharti o/s fix the wav file error?

Can someone please shed some light on this issue? What handheld version do I need to be on to play wav files?
Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to send the wav file from the BES as a raw attachment (without conversion) to the BB and then play the wav file with BB audio player?
Currently, we has added a wav extension in the distiller settings and therefore it BES tries to convert the wav file.

fwiw, I just called Blackberry on this.. while they admit the 8700 can play wav files, BES won't support it.

I assume it's as simple as allowing wav extensions through..? They wouldn't give eta, may have to wait until 4.2.
