Default Unlock browser for a 7105t

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, first thing is that I am a Cingular customer that has aquired a T-Mobile 7105t phone (because its awesome). I have already unlocked it and it works perfectly fine. I get all of my text mesages, voice messages and regular phone calls. The only problem I have is getting my browser to work. I have an internet plan with my Cingular account, but the BB dosent seem to take it. Every time I click to open my browser I get a message saying "Your device does not currently have any Browser Configuration Book Entries. Please contact your service provider to enable the browser on your device."

Now, since I am using a T-Mobile phone on a Cingular account, they dont want to help me. Is there some setting on my phone that I have not activated/deactivated that you know of?

Any help would be appriciated!

Have you tried resending your Service Books?

Go to the icon called "Activate Internet E-Mail". Click the link called "Service Books", then "Resend All".

Service Books basically tell the server what features you have active on your handset.

I dont even see an icon or anything called "activate internet email".

Maybe I forgot to mention that I am not on a Enterprize server... just on my own plan.

That being the case, you may need to call RIM Tech Support to have them resnd those service books...

Sign into your BIS account and resend service boosk
if you are unable to do this call Cingular and have them do it - you don't need to say why just that you need new service books

what version of handheld software do you have? and are you sure your being billed for the browsing service?

TIME OUT - Nimrod; you posted that you have an "Internet Plan". Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan. Not a GPRS or Internet plan, but a BlackBerry Data Plan.

Again; you must have a BlackBerry Data Plan in order for the browser (or e-mail) to work...

Question

I have a similar question.... Is it really impossible to browse the Internet
with only GPRS Plan ? I am new to BB and my device is 7100G.

I bought a used 7100 because the hardware is not expensive (compared
with other handhelds). I would be very disappointed if it cannot work
under an "ordinary" GPRS plan... Many thanks for any clue.....

Yes, it is really impossible to browse with only the GPRS plan.
Without a BlackBerry Data Plan, your 7100 can do voice and SMS Only.
Sorry for the disappointment

Question

Thanks for your reply.

I was probably wrong since I thought that the discssion in this
forum with subject "How to Configure Full Internet Access On BlackBerry"
(thread t=2185) addressed similar question.

No. That discusses how to get full access (instead of just WAP) access with some carriers. But you MUST have a BlackBerry Data Plan.

Ahaha, I guess I forgot to include that bit of imformation. Yes, I have a BB data plan. I called and had them resend my service books and after sending them from my phone, everything works correctly now... I even have more icons now because of my browser working.

Thanks for the help guys and sorry for not giving you ALL of my information.

Unhappy

Oh.... I'm very disappointed !!. I'll sell my 7100G and buy a Windowz-based device, in order to use my unlimited GPRS plan (although I don't like Bill Gatez very much)... I wonder why BB didn't open their BB service for all GPRS users.

It might be a business decision, instead of a technical one.... I am afriad that BB will soon face a downturn similar to what Apple Mac did. (both of them didn't "open" their platforms initially..... It may be too late when BB is aware of this)

Again, thousand of thanks to all respondents of my questions..... you've clarified my misunderstanding.

Because RIM and the carriers make money on the BlackBerry Data Plan. It is not in their best interests to open it up to every GPRS plan.
