I am new and need some help. Who should I contact at Cingular for the unlock code for my 7130c? Is there some number to call or do I need to go back to the store and get the code. Thanks.

The number to call is 1-800-PLS-MFTP.
If that doesn't work out... try 1-800-USE-SRCH.

Call Cingular Customer care and ask them for the unlock code. Tell them you are leaving the country and want to use a local SIM card.

why do they bother locking the devices when its so easy to get the unlocking key?

here in oz they charge for unlocking cause a locked handset is usually subsidized and.the want to recover their money
