Can I reset the 7100????

I can't find any "Hole" to hard reset the BB

Try ##000000 send then you must click the track wheel and then hit save. Nothing will be changed it will just restart the device.

I have mine saved as a phone book entry.

That works on the CDMA BBs but not on others.

If you want to "hard reset" like wipe all data and rest to defaults, then go to Options, Security Options, General settings and click the wheel. Choose "Wipe Handheld" and follow the prompts. if you only have 4.0 on the devie there is no General Settings in security.

If for some reason, like in my case, you can't get to the menu (white screen with hour glass), can you still do something to wipe the device clean and reinstall as if you've just received it from the manufacturer?

Search for a download "Javaloader" from this forum. Unzip it. It is a DOS program. Open a DOS prompt and type

javaloader -usb wipe

That will completely wipe out the BB. You can then reload the OS.

Hmm, scary. Almost sounds like 'flashing the bios'. I will give it a go, thanks for the info...
