Hello -

I am a new Blackberry owner (8700c), came from Treo 650. So far, I'm a little frustrated with my 8700. I just got it yesterday, and it's got a great screen and nice interface. But when I click the scroll wheel on "Personal Email Set Up", or "Internet Browser" the device locks up. The cursor brackets are stuck on the icon, and it is completely unresponsive. After a few seconds the screen goes black, and then when I press the power button it gives me an all-white screen with just one or two blue arrows (like the ones that show you the screen can be scrolled down further.) No cursor, no response, just white space with arrows. What could be causing this? How do I determine what version of the software my device has? (By the way, I have not installed any apps or downloaded or added anything at all.)

I welcome and appreciate any help or suggestions, I'm excited about my 8700 and want it to work!

To determine what version of the OS is loaded, go into Options and then select "About".

Is this a new BB?

have u spoken with the Cingular tech support? i dont know how they are but whenever i had a prob, TMO pda/smartphone (this is the tmo dept that handles BB's) are very helpful to either fix the prob or sent out a new replacement unit..

If it's new, return it, and if not try reinstalling an newer OS. Find instructions in the themes forum.
