Question Browser options for Blackberry 8700c

Please Login to Remove!

Any opinions on the Opera Mini? I was able to download and install the browser, but could not get it to work. The message tells me there is no Internet connection yet I have access to the Internet via the Cingular and Blackberry browsers. Does the Opera Mini work for this device or does it not?

Yes it does work. You need to enter the WAP id and password for your provider under TCP.

It is different from the included browsers. It is not quite as smooth in entering fields but it formats some pages better. I use it when the other two browsers don't show a readable page.

i tried opera mini as well and wasn't that impressed. i like the integrated keyboard shortcuts on the blackberry browser. too much wheel clicking with opera mini. plus, it looks like it was designed for a phone with two softkeys at the top.

Agreed, but there have been rare occasions where it works when the other browsers (Blackberry, WAP, Internet) don't, and since I have enough space on my 8700, keep it around for emergencies.

probably not a bad idea... what situations have you seen the opera browser work when the others wouldn't. i might have to use the same strategy.

Opera Mini is my backup browser as well... I've noticed that it loads sites with mutiple tables better than my BB browser. For that I keep it around, but as Byron mentioned. there is way too much wheel clicking.

For some reason my BB browser hates MySpace and wont let me view my messages etc. So i use Opera at times like that. It is usually a little slower than the BB browser but effective!
