And no the OTA never worked that I am aware of. When I got the pohne it was already activated, and I had to re- activate twice since. Both times I left the area (Nextel network) and had issues when trying to do the process OTA.
To check the network setting on your BlackBerry, go to Options
>verify that it is set to Automatic
. And what exactly do you mean when you say "Both times I left the area (Nextel network)"? Have you tried simply removing/reinserting the battery when you returned?
Finally, OTA may not be configured for use in your organization. To use OTA, the BES admin has to provide you with an activation password. This password is only good for 48 hours or 5 attempts. Once the BlackBerry has successfully activated, the password is automatically invalidated. If you need to activate wirelessly again, you need another new password.
