Default n00b ?

So I tried searching the site for an answer to this and while I found some posts that may be related, I couldn't really find an answer.

I'm using an 8700c and I use Outlook for my desktop e-mail. I am not on a BES. If I read a message on Outlook before it arrives at the Berry, it never arrives on the handheld. I'm sure there's a toggle switch somewhere, but I can't find it to save my life.

Thanks for your help!

Not sure. How can I find out? I do have a BIS acct at the cingular.com/blackberry page. If you're asking if I have the e-mails redirected through the mycingular.blackberry.com addy, no I don't.

The reason that your BB is not receiving the message is that outlook is taking the message off the server. I believe there is something in outlook to keep messages on server.

::braces self for hours finding a decent answer on the microsoft site::

Edit: that went better than expected. This does indeed appear to be the fix for that. Thanks again for the hlep.

Make sure when you set up the account in Outlook you didn't set cached mode.

Is this an exchange server account, or just a general one?

Default how to keep messages in Outlook

boy did I suffer with this for a while! My IT guy gave me the following for Outlook 2003. Go to Tools, Email accounts, View or change existing email accounts and select your email account. Select Change button. In the lower right of the dialog box select More Settings. Click on Advanced tab. All the way at the bottom is "Leave copy of message on the server" and some other check boxes. I have all three checked.

This should allow you to save your emails even after you read them in Outlook. I think that means that when the BBerry goes to fetch it it'll still be there!

Cheers!
