'toddest', any luck w/ this issue? I'm having the same symptoms with my 8700c in conjunction with the stock holster (with the unit facing the correct way). It worked fine for months, now nothing.

I guess my next step is to try a different holster but it seems that may not be a likely fix. Maybe attempt to re-magnetize the holster?

Anyone else have any ideas for this issue? It's very annoying!

Take a regular magnet (not the flimsy ones for the fridge, but not super powerful like a sub woofer) and wave it over the keyboard. If the BB goes off, then the BB is fine and the holster needs a new magnet. If it doesn't go off, then the BB may be broke...try a friends holster with your BB....or your holster with theirs....does the problem follow the holster or th BB? replace the defective.

I can't believe how many people and "experts from tmobile" think the 7000 series is supposed to be put face out in the case.

Hmm. - there is one side that goes all the way up (case) and one that doesn't.

Hmm - my screen is not protected this way - and i can't hear it ring cause its muffled. Damn these designers are stupid. They would have been smarter to put the short side on the one closest to your belt and the long side out to protect the screen and let the sound come out of the computer cleanly.

Incidently i have a gizmoskin case - can't say enough of how wonderful it is.
