7100t & keypad tones, when dialing a number
 

I have keypad tone set to off, yet, when I dial a number to make a call, I still hear a tone for each key I press.

Am I missing something here?

Am surprised that no one knows an answer for this...

Unless, of course, this is the norm for this device? Since am new to Blackberry, it's just a guess. I take it other people with this device have the same issue, i.e. that's how it works, start to dial, and you hear the tones?

Not sure which tone you refer to. Keypad tone off turns off the sound made as a veryfication that you pressed a key. A tone will always be heard in the earpiece as this tone must be sent to the telco to dial.

Silly me! That's the tone I've been hearing - duh how else would tone dialling work...
