i am trying to give my 8700 to my friend. how do you delete all info and get it to factory settings again??

A very popular question. Came up earlier today and was answered. To delete all customer data but leave the programs and OS behind, go to

Options -> Security Options -> General Settings, click the wheel and select Wipe Handheld.

For complete security I would us cm_ldr (I think that is the name) and completely erase everything on the BB including OS and then reload the current OS for your buddy.
