I am setting up my friends 8700r and everything seems ok but i have the profiles like normal to ring or beep for everything, phone and email but nothing? The speaker is working fine, i can listen to ring tones and all the profile settings seem good in both holser and out of hoster but no tones for email and ringer for phone. Is there a hidden option to turn off the ringer?

There's two settings in a ringer profile that can cause a ringer not to sound: Out of/In holster: None and Volume: Mute. Sometimes people setup their profiles but overlook one of those two settings.

Try making a phone call, activate the speaker phone and roll the volume up to max. If that works, go download the latest software OS for you hand held and update it
