Default No Find function in contacts when forwarding an email

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

Apologies if this has been answered but I can't find any posts about it.

When a user attempts to foward an email they cannot search through thier contact list. They can only do a lookup which returns names from the exchange global address list.

Is there any way to do this as several users have very long contact lists.

Using a 7100v running v4.0.0.198 with a BES v.4.0

Just spotted that this isn't just when forwarding email but when composing new mails also.

Have you tried a simple hard reset (remove battery) of the handheld? Check the service books and resend them from the BES server is possible. Does the address book show contacts in to when access directly?

Thanks Doug but this seems to be by design.
I can open the contact list and can use the find option in this list.
Its only when I want to send a new email that I can not see a way to search the contacts list.
I was hoping there was an obscure option that I can't find to do this but there doesn't seem to be.

No, you have the ability to search when composing an email. You should be able to start typing the name of the contact you want to find when composing an email. The more of the name you type, the smaller the list gets as contacts are removed for not matching.
