Default AOL Mail Reconciliation - How?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,
I'm using an 8700g with a BIS T-mobile plan. I have several AOL accounts which I am using and would like to have them reconcile so that when i delete an email on my blackberry, the email gets deleted on my aol mailbox as well.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

Any advice is appreciated!

Not gonna happen (completely.) getting AOL off a BIS, means polling AOLs IMAP transport, whcih is separate from the AOL mailbox. However, read or deleted mail seems to show up only as read in the AOL mailbox, not deleted.

What about if you have BES?
My friend has BES and when she deletes an aol mail on her blackberry, it ends up deleting in her aol mailbox

Not so sure about that chip...

BES works with Exchange, Notes and Groupwise mailboxes. Nothing to do with AOL.

I'd double check that. It's wrong.

Well, I havw a BES, as well -- I assume he means she HAS a BES, but, most likely, like me, the AOL is being polled off the IMAP server from the BIS. BES's, to my knowledge, don't support IMAP.

And, are you sure the mails are DELETED in the AOL app mailbox, or in the "old" folder?

What your talking about is possible w/ BIS 2.0 - which T-Mobile is on

The reason it's not could be due to 2 things that i can think of...
1) you don't have the wireless reconcile options turuned on for your account on your handheld

double check that your handheld is set to delete on mailbox and handheld for each account

2) your AOL account is set up to show new and old messages in seperate folders

this means when the emails read on the handheld it gets removed from the inbox and set in the old messages folder. So then when you delete it from your BlackBerry and it tries to delete it from the inbox on the server it's not there to delete...does that make sense?

i'd suggest setting your AOL account to a unified inbox (under display settings) and see if that fixes the issue

I have a t-mo 8700g setup with my AOL account, and when I read an email on my BB, my AOL account will send it to my read mail inbox and if I delete an email on my BB, although I forget exactly where it goes on my AOL Account, I know its not in my new inbox anymore.

I do have my aol counts set to have a unified message box, and on my blackberry my accounts set to reconcile and to delete on both mailbox and handheld, yet it still doesn't work.
I find this so odd concidering it works for my friend - when she deletes an aol mail on her blackberry 8700g, a few minutes later it gets deleted from her aol mailbox
