Default 7100T Speaker: Sounding Muffled

I have had several 7100T's with T-Mobile, and I continue to have the same problem. If there is any noise around me (i.e. in a restaurant, or outside by a busy street) the person on the other end of the phone can't hear me, and when they do they say I sound "muffled." I am NOT using the speaker phone function when this occurs. I am hesitant to buy another BlackBerry and am tempted to switch to Verizon and get a Treo.
Does anybody have similar problems or thoughts?

I did have the same issue until I upgraded to the latest handheld version from T-Mobile. If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest getting the latest version from your provider. If it's T-Mobile, you can get it here:
