Default Open Attachments to view won't leave it on BB?

Please Login to Remove!

So, when i view attachments (jpg, word, etc) on my BB, you go to Open Attachment>Full Content>Retrieve and voila it's on your screen.

When you do this retrieving, does it actually leave the document on your BB somewhere? Or once you Close, it is not physically on your device?

newbie to BB here and couldn't find the right answer in search

Pictures can be saved and viewed again w/o having to go to the email. Anything else isn't. Check out the thread I started relating to your question.

where are attachments stored on BB?

when you open a file, it also saves the file in a cache. The best way to test this is to get a file from your email and open it. Then shut off your wireless. Look at the file again and click open. It will open.

Seems as if I have images and PDF attachment files in cache (they are available when wireless is off). How to browse, clear this attachment cache?
