HOW DO YOU REPLY TO AN E-MAIL?

I hit r - type in my reply and how send? I get an option to save? Yet it never get's sent?

I'm new at this and any help from the pro's greatly appreciated!

When you're in a reply, if you click the scroll wheel, you should have an option to Send.

Clicking the scroll wheel within an application will either select an item or bring up a menu of options available to you at that stage.

If you hit [Esc] (the button under the scroll wheel), three options should appear - Save, Discard, Cancel (don't know why there isn't an option to send from there - there should be!). [Esc] typically takes you back one level.

Saved messages can subsequently opened and sent.

Sent messages may not appear in your message list if you have Hide Sent Messages set to Yes under Messages --> Options --> General Options. Click the wheel when you're in Messages to display the Messages menu where you can get to Options.

I'm in the reply and scroll wheeel does not prompt a send option. I hit the escape and get save, discard, cancel.

Are my settings off?

First, you must have someone in the TO:, CC:, or BCC: fields before the SEND option will appear on the menu when you click (push in on) the scroll wheel.

Second, you must have a Data plan. Next to the indicator it needs to say GPRS (GSM might work too) for you to be able to send / receive emails. Neither gprs nor gsm will work.

Finally, you must have your email set up.

If you're on a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server), you need to do an Enterprise Activation. Check with your BES Administrator or provider for instructions on activating your account.

If you're just on your Cell provider's BlackBerry plan, you need to activate your BlackBerry with their BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) service. Check with them for the URL to use to set that up. It's easiest to activate it using your BlackBerry's browser, but managing the account is easier on a PC.

Hmm...I'm thinking he must have a data plan if he has emails to reply to. I think the end all and be all solution for most problems is to resend the service books from the BIS site and/or do a reset with the battery out.

Failing that, this problem may require a call to your service provider.

this is starting to bug me!

I have the Tmobile plan. I am receiving E-mails from home and work. Inicator says GPRS.

Yet the ever elusive "send" never comes up as an option. I bought this 7230 used and very happy overall but is it possible something is broken?

Go into Options / Security / General Settings
See if there is an IT Policy set.
Since you bought a used BB, it is possible that the prior owner had an IT Policy on it preventing you sending e-mails.
