For those users who pocket carry the 7130c, has anyone experienced screen dust problems with the 7130c ???

no dust yet.

I am worried about all the openings, since they dont fit snug with the case. Like the USB, headset, clickwheel.

I do like that the mic is on the front and the bottom is sealed, no dock connector.

Cheers

I'm in the minority on this, but I worry about this too.

I saw my brother in-law's 7100 (T-mobile) and it had dust specks under the screen in many places. He's had it a while, and uses the OEM leather belt holster.

Makes me wonder if the 7130c is vulnerable to this. Yeah, I know they're not the SAME device, but it makes you think.

The headset jack and charging port do indeed collect dust over time. I am forced to vacuum the opeinings from time to time. The 7130c is certainly no rugged NEXTEL offering. That is why I egripped my headset jack closed. Only the charging port remains vulnerable. I will probably create an egrip flap within the wek to take care of that.

OK, it's been a few months since the 7130c hit the streets.

For you long-term 7130c users, how long have you had yours, and any dust yet?

Okay, it almost been a year and I do have a small amount of dust. I have to really look for it, to see it. I carry in holster 50% with the other 50% in my pants pocket, so maybe that has helped.

Anyway, just wanted to get a status update.

Cheers.

Mine does have some dust behind the screen. I tried using an air can but it just moved it around. ONly way to clean is to remove the housing.

I have the 7100t and have not had a dust problem. It is always in a leather holster though.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

I have a 7100i and after pocket carrying for a year now there is a considerable amount of dust behind the screen.

Do I have to take it apart to clean the dust out or will a can of air get the job done?

I've had my 7130c for quite a while and don't have a dust problem at all. The only problem I have is a loose battery cover, but it's never let dust in.

I definitely have some dust under my screen. It's pretty much always been in a case but those cases have cut outs for the head set and USB so I doubt there has been any protection there.
