today my otherwise perfectly functioning 7130c beeped at me, then the screen was grey with a small box in the middle reading "DSP FAILURE - RESET" on it

clicking on the wheel did indeed reset it

anyone knows what that is all about???

wow. Don't know what that one is. Do you have a lot of 3rd party tools on that bb?

Never heard of that error before. If it doesn't come up again, I don't know if I would worry about it too much. If it keeps coming back, you may want to wipe and reload the OS.

only third party apps are BBWeather, BBToday, Google Talk and Google Maps

I am getting the same error message, "DSP Failure". I have reloaded the OS and have wiped all apps from the device to make sure that none of them was causing the issue. Cingular has offered me an 8700 but I really don't want it. Does anyone else know how to resolve this issue?

i have this problem with my 7130c before...i just keep rebooting (take out the battery and put it back) until the problem is gone.

If you don;t want the 8700, ATT/Cingular has refurbed 7130's on their site. Mine gets here tomorrow to replace a 7105t with a dead keypad. (Had fun taking it apart, though!).
