Change firmware in a 7100?

I purchased an unlocked 7100 from Tigerdirect.ca and it's working fairly well. It only charges to 85% which I will enquire about today. I also need the extended battery because this thing will only last from about 8am until about 5pm.....which isn't bad, I just want more......

Since this unit was originally a T-Mobile unit and it still displays this, can I change the firmware to display ROGERS? is there a way??

What is the typical time for this standard battery?

Thanks

Carrier branding is native to each carrier device and can't be changed, Robbers OS or not it's hard coded to the device.

Depends on the user but I usually get 2-3 days use between charges. 8hrs. sounds like the battery is on it's last leg

Thanks

Hi Vijay - in addition to what Finch said, I remember there being a bug in some version of the handheld code where the battery charge only went to 85%. But I don't remember which BB it was for.

You may want to upgrade the 7100r to the latest version of the OS and see if that solves that problem. Or, as stated, it could be a weakened battery.
