Default 7290 not showing LOCAL time overseas

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Looked through all postings in this area but no sign of a solution.

When I take my (New Zealand Vodafone) 7290 overseas I set the Date/Time option to Date/Time Source = Network. However, all my calender appointments remain at NZ time. Obviously this not how the feature is supposed to work - is it?

You have to change the time zone to where ever you are. All you did was change the time itself. Your BlackBerry still thinks it is what ever time zone it is set for.

Bummer - what's the use of synchronising with the system clock if I then have to go away and change the time zone? Seems like if the O/S knows I'm in a different time zone it should accommodate for that and change the calender accordingly.

How does the OS know where you are? I believe most networks use Zulu time (UTC) and rely on the Time Zone setting. When you travel, don't reset your time, change your time zone and all we be well.

Hope this helps.

OK, just that with GPRS the O/S should know where you are (not physically of course, but time zone-wise certainly) and I'd have thought that would be enough for the system to use for calender/alarms etc....

Just tried changing time zone and when I go to calender it pops me in at the local equivalent of my physical time zone - thanks for the assistance guys.
