From my understanding they used to charge $250.00 for the unlock code. When I called Rogers in regards to getting my 8700r unlocked they had told me that they no longer provide unlock codes for their phones. I was told this by a Customer Service Rep when dialing *611 and I was told the same when I had contacted the Rogers Data Department.

You can try gsmlocker.com they charge $149.99 for the unlock code and apparently then can unlock the 8700r. I tried to have my 8700r unlocked once but it was no help. They couldn't get the unlock code. I'm still waiting for someone to unlock mine.
