Default when are we going to get Macros for the 8700

HEY > how many times have you wished, as you typed the same line of text ONE more time that you had macros in the 8700? A device that you do that much typing in needs this, IMHO, beyond that basic spell check thing.

Anything I should know as far as developments in this area?

Use the AutoText function for your macros. As an example, create a new Autotext entry with Replace set to sig1 and With set to 'This is my default signature'. Now everytime you type sig1 in a message it will be replaced with This is my default signature.

Sure, we've had it for years. It's called AUTOTEXT. I have about 50 of my own entries. most of them are 3-4 lines each. Some are also custom signatures. It saves me a lot of typing.

Read your manuals and FAQs.

another tip I recently picked up from this forum - on my 8700 i put in r c and u to be are, see, and you... in addition to the sigs ( i have 10 or so, depending on which hat i wear)

You could have typed RTFMS and I would have been able to deal with it.
