Why would you want to unlock it?

Just curious, if there are any benefits, such as hidden features or options not otherwise seen?

Lately there has been a lot of talk about unlocking phone and how they work better after unlocking.

I just donxxx8217;t want to missing out if there are benefits of having an unlock bb w/verizon

There are no benefits to unlocking a phone unless you want to use another carrier's SIM card in it. It does not "unlock" any new features, themes, ringtones or applications. It allows you to use another carrier's SIM card.

Since Verizon doesn't use SIM cards, unlocking it COULD allow you to use it on another CDMA carrier, like Sprint, but it's not as easy.
