Default Tmo tethering question

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, I have read alot about tethering and I am curious. I have the 8700g with Tmobile and I want to tether it to my laptop. What I want to know is there a way to do this with out shark modem? I am trying to avoid the cost after the trial period ends.

Thanks Doug...but that's no help. I have read that thread and unless I missed it I didn't read anything as to alternatives to SHARK MODEM. My question is...is there a way to make the 8700g a modem WITH OUT Shark modem.

Yes, the thread I posted has directions on how to tether your BlackBerry as a modem. This is what your wanting, correct? You have to do some configuration manually, but it works great. Shark Modem only needs to be used on some specific models (older ones) that the manual configuration doesn't work.

Ok I understand now. I was thinking that only the 8700c out of the 8700 series could be used with out Shark Modem. Hince why I wanted an alternative. I was able to get mine (8700g)to tether with out the program. Thanks for all your help Doug.

can one view a corporate intranet? you know, internal websites, that the 'secure blackberry browser' lets you view on a handheld....

Yes, if you use a VPN client, or how ever you normally would authenticate to the internal network.
