Default 7130C Edge vs. 7130E EVDO - Faster for web?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying to decide between the 7130 on Verizon or Cingular. I know that EVDO is faster than Edge. However, I've gotten the impression from the speed tests on other forums that the CDMA aspects or perhaps the processor on the 8700C make it seem faster on internet speed tests than the 7130E. However I have not seen a similar comparison with the 7130C.

I would have thought that the two 7130C and E would have the same processor inside so that wouldn't make a difference.

Bottom line, does anyone know if one is better than the other for internet browsing?

Wirelessly posted (7130c: BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I have not done extensive testing or comparison on these, but I did try both out in the stores a little before deciding. I found that there didn't seem to be a noticeable difference in web browsing speeds.

I think the real difference is more apparent if you are tethering.

In the end I went with the 7130c because I liked the form factor better.

Just about everyone here will tell you to decide based on who has the best coverage. Cingular and Verizon have equal coverage in my market so that wasn't a big issue for me.
