Default BlackBerry Password Keeper

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone give some insight into the Password Keeper program. I have a majior issue:

I just got an 8700g and when first fooling around with the different options, etc. I saw the password keeper icon and wanted to see if it was similar to a purchased software titled "ewallet", that I had on my Tmo MDA.

Now the problem: I must have entered a password while fooling around and now when trying to understand all of the features of the BB, I note that the Password Keeper is asking for a password and it apparently is only giving me 10 attempts and I am currently on 7 of 10! Can anyone help?

call your service provided or look in your manual for a default password if you didn't set a password. If you lock it be prepared to pay.

If you can avoid using it (password keeper program) do so until you can find out what the password is. You get 10 chances at the correct password before the handheld wipes itself.

Does missing the pasword 10 times on Password Keeper really wipe the entire handheld? Or just the Password Keeper content?

No, it only wipes the passwords you have saved on it. You chose a new password for the application at that point.

Okei: Are you sure it only wipes the passwords you already have stored and then you can choose a new password for program? If this is true, I can just put in the wrong password 3 more times and start over since I haven't saved any passwords on it yet. Let me know if you are still viewing this post, I would love to know that this is the answer.

Yes, Robert, I put the password in 10 times wrong and it just prompted me for a new password. When I went back in the app, the passwords I had stored were wiped. I just upgraded from a 7290, so I wasn't too concerned about the handheld being wiped.
