Default 7130e Internet connection keeps dropping

I'm using Verizon's EVDO service with my 7130e. I'm connected via USB cable and using the VZAccess Manager. For no apparent reason I will get disconnected from the Internet even while I'm in the middle of a request, or transfering files.

Have other people experienced this? I updated my phone with the 22899 call, and I'm running the latest VZAccess manager.

One thing I have noticed is that my phone charges from my USB cable as well, and from time to time the charge icon will go away from my battery, almost like the device is losing USB connectivity. Could it be a bad USB cable? I haven't had any problems with this particular USB cable before (I use it for other devices like my PSP).
