7105t: Non-stop hourglass rotating on white screen
Let me start by saying my wife is 9 months pregnant, the baby can come anyday and my phone is completely useless. To say the least, I'm in need of some serious help...
My 7105t froze on me yesterday. Soft-reset didn't work so I popped the battery and everything went back to normal. During that reboot though, I was prompted with a question about "Instant Messaging network or database or something like that." I chose "yes" b/c my IM never works so I thought this prompt might fix it. I also selected the "don't ask me again" option. Then about 8 hours later out of nowhere the screen went white and the hourglass started rotating and hasn't stopped in the past 24 hours. I have pulled the battery out at least a dozen times and it just goes back to the hourglass. Soft-reset and power-off button do nothing.
Hey try a "hard-reset" to do this simple take your battery out (while your black berry is on) and Hold in the power button for 30 seconds and release and put your battery back in, see if this works. If not get back to me and we can try a "Master Reset" Just have to research on how do to do it, its really simple I just forgot how.

Going to let the battery run all the way down tonight and see if that does a "natural" reset.
Lets try a "Master Radio Reset" here are simple steps:
1) Go to options.
2) Click on Security Options.
3) Go to General Settings.
4) Click track wheel when in Security Options and click Master Radio Reset.
(Just follow the on screen instructions after this, not sure what it ask but its not complicated I done it the other day)

I wish I could. The buttons, the wheel, the power button, none of them work. It's just the same thing nonstop of the hourglass rotating.
I let it power down and once I plugged it in it went back to the hourglass. Really not sure what else I can do.
Is your phone still under warranty? Maybe a nice T-Mobile store manager would provide you with a loaner phone to use while your phone is being checked out given the constant need for you to be able to be reached?
Other choice would be to go to Wal_mart or Target or something and buy the cheapest prepaid phone you can find and use that in the meantime.
Have you tried contacting your service provider on this matter? Weather or not your phone is under warrenty, that is why they are there to help you with technical problems you may incure. Give them a call they might be able to hep you farther, and give you a solution as to what is going on.
Also might recommend doing a backup of all your data (if possible and if you have all the right things to do this, this includes a PC/Laptop, USB cable for the blackberry and the Desktop Manager install disc.) If so a Software re-install might be in order.
Was on the phone with T-Mobile for a while. They were nice enough about it, but were only so helpful. Supposedly this happens often enough that the rep knew what I was talking about. Unfortunately, I'm not able to put new software on the bb because nothing happens when I link it up to my laptop. It might as well not even be able to turn on in its current state (white screen, nonstop hourglass).
So I'm heading to the T-Mobile service center tmw morning. Will let you know what happens.

hey there . i had the same problem.. i was on the phone with tmobile and rim for a total about 14 hrs.,. nothin g got fixed then got transfered to the replacement department and they sent me anohter phon e.. but nothing would fix that hour glasss problem... good luck..
You can fix it at home. You will need to have the Desktop manager and the TMobile OS installed on a computer. You should also download the JL_cmdr from this forum. Then, just JL (option 5) to erase the unit. Then just open up DM and double click on loader. If the DM doesn't recognize the unit, go to connections and configure for USB, then dbl click on the App loader.
You will have a fresh install of the latest from Tmobile, this will very likely take care of the messenger problem as well.
