If you're not able to make any calls, that's already not a data issue. Is this a new SIM card? Sometimes, if you pull out the SIM card from under the battery and wipe down the gold part with your shirt and replace it, problems mysteriously get fixed. Definitely give Customer Service a ring to see whether they can check out your profile.
