Default 7130e Data or Voice Switch Off

Please Login to Remove!

I am doing my research on the 7130e and it looks like this is the route i am going to go...but i have one other question regarding it....since you have the data function and voice function in one phone...is it possible to turnoff one or the other for lets say an hour? a week? a month? forever?...

reason i ask....since this is going to be a work phone....when i go on vacation...i have my personal phone forwarding to this phone so i only have to carry one phone...during that time...i would like to turn off the data portion...so that i dont receive any emails...but i dont want to affect the voice part when i do this...

Can't be done. You can turn off the notification for the email or turn off the BB completely but not either the voice or data seperate.

I use my BlackBerry w/ my company's BES, and there's an option on the BB to "Send Email to Handheld". If you set that option to no, it updates the BES and no emails are sent.

I'm not aware of a way to disable all data while still having the phone enabled.

some of your posts are wrong all new OS version have a little option in network setting. It says turn "data services" which you can set to on or off. so yes you can turn data off but not voice.

Milan, where is that setting?

On my 7130e (4.1.0.268), I don't see that option in Network Settings.

my 8700 7100 and my brothers 7130 have the option. my 8700 is at work and i am looking at 7100 now it is running 4.1.0.309 and have the data service currently turned off. works like a charm.

they all have the option just need the latest software installed.

for 7130e seems liek sprint has the latest software 4.1.0.387, that would definetly give you the option if you need it.

im assuming that even though sprint has the latest OS on their 7130e, its the same phone regardless of the provider....so as long as you can update the OS...it will add this feature if it is not already there?...

I have a 7130e on the latest software & when I go into network, I don't see anything with those options. I have an option to be on automatic or home network. The only other way I know how to stop emails is to go into messages > options > reconciliation & turn the wireless reconcile off (is this what you are doing). If you are using desktop manager or on a BES server you can also turn the redirection off.

it seems that you are the only one that is able to find this option on your 7130e....and you are the only one using sprint with the OS that you have it looks like?...so it seems as though it is an OS thing....is there any way to share OS's from another users bb??
