Go to messages. If it's on your Blackberry, it's in there.

I have the 8700c. On the screen there is an icon that looks like an envelope. Roll the track wheel until it is highlighted. Then push in the track wheel to open the messages inbox. You should then see all of your messages including text messages.

We're trying. No need to ask the same question again like we're idiots. Everything posted so far has been a suggestion to fix your problem. Take it as such.

What general options are you referring to? I've never had a Blackberry automatically default to the general options within messages...least of all my 8700c.

Try holding alt-esc and scroll to messages. See if that works.

Or, while in this mystical "general options", click the trackwheel and choose "save" or "close". Maybe that will get you out of it.

Though your confusion amuses me, i'd say the easiest way for you is to do the following

Go to your contact list
Click on the contact you wish to text message
Choose the option "SMS Contact"

Hope that helps

i have a 8700c....dude take a deep breath......we're all trying to help....if your are saying your Mailbox icon on your home screen is for some reason your settings/options then try this....find your Options/Settings icon and open that and see if your mail box opens. Depending on what theme you are using right now...it will be either a wrench or a folder with bolts in it.
