on a single call from a 95% charged battery i was able to talk about 5 hours with the phone on the holster the whole time.. i probably could of got an extra 20-30 minutes but i put it on the charger when it was down to about 5%.

on a single call i think it can do close to 6 hours talktime if the phone is 100% charged and u don't make the backlight go on constantly during the call.

not bad i guess,.. just thought i'd post if anyone curious.
(by the way, this is the standard battery - which is about 2 weeks old).

I have had mine for three months with the standard battery and have had the same results... No need for the extended in my case I believe... If I charge it for 15-20 mins in a 14 hour day, it puts it right back to 75%...

I dunno if I am having an issue with my blackberry or what, its only about a week old (with standard battery) And I take it off charge at about 6:15am in the morning when I am getting ready to leave for work and I don't talk on it all that much (maybe an hour, hour and a half tops throughout the day), but I do however use RAMBLE IM to Instant message a person back and forth and do e-mails and light web browsing and by 10:00pm the battery is already red and says Low Battery. Only once has the radio actualy shut itself off because the battery was to low. I was just wondering if this was a common problem or maybe there is a defect in my battery, I keep it on the charger over night aprox. 7 hours charge, am I doing something wrong? Or what? Also how long can the battery be low before it turns the radio off? I had a nextel i860 and when it said low battery it seemed like you could talk forever and it not go dead, you would just have to put up with the anoyying sound it made when it was alerting you the battery was going dead. Any suggestions?

it depends how many calls you made, if you made/received 30 calls totaling an hour then it will drain the battery more because of the backlight always going on...

if you are making a lot of 2-5 min calls than that will definitely reduce the battery.. i suggest you set the backlight timeout to a lower number like 10sec so it goes off faster..

about the radio thing... i was able to keep talking even when there were no bars on the battery meter and it was at 0% for a while and radio never turned off.. so i don't know about that.

well when I first got the black berry I had the man set it up for me at the Nextel store and he had to let it charge for like 30 minutes before Radio function would even turn on....
