Default Getting a New Case Put On?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 7100i from Nextel, and the case has some scratches from wear and tear.

I have both insurance options - the repair one, and the one in case it gets lost or stolen.

I was just wondering if they would replace the exterior houring for free, or does the insurance only cover problems which prevent your phone from working?

Thanks very much for any information.

I am 99% certain that insurance does not cover anything that is simply deemed "cosmetic."

They don't repair them. They only replace units.

I was told there was two types of insurance from the Nextel rep, one for repairable damage, and one for a lost or stolen phone? One was $4/mo and the other was $6/mo. I got both.

If your telling me they never repair the phone, should I just cancel the repair insurance?

They will do repairs. A broken antenna or keypad might be repaired. A water damaged phone would go through insurance. One difference could be if Nextel does not do repairs of BB's. Then you'd get a new one without going through insurance if it were a warranty issue like a defective keypad.

Ohh I see, so my best bet if I'm not happy with the condition of my 7100 is to say it has gotten lost, and put in an incurance claim, correct?

Thanks.

Yeah I guess that is your only option, though technically I suppose such an action would be considered insurance fraud.
