I have a POP3 account that is used for business. It's basically a dummy email address on a domain from GoDaddy. I set it up thru the T-Mobile site, apparently using the BIS app.

Here's my question-in Outlook, when you get your new emails, they display the date and time that the email was sent, whether you have your computer on all the time, or simply just at night in a hotel. But when BB checks, downloads, and displays new emails, it assigns the date and time the new messages were downloaded, as opposed to the date and time they were sent. I realize that by default, I believe BIS checks my GoDaddy account in 15 minute intervals, or something close to it. Is there a way to set the BB to post new messages on my device, as in Outlook, regardless of when it checks the server for new messages? Should I set a rule with GoDaddy to CC my tmo.blackberry.net account to get the result I'm looking for?

One more thing-we have a server in our office, but it's used for databases and other document storage. I realize I could use Exchange, but we are a small business, and I'm the only one with a BB at this point, thus making BES a bit out of reach for us.

when you open the message it shows you the time/date it was actually received on your server

no way to set it up to show this w/o opening the message - unless you get an exchange server and install BES (BTW - BES express is free for 1 person - it's an option) as BES is real time delivery

I get my messages as soon as they are sent from the sender. The problem is if I go in and out of service areas, or I'm in a building where there is weak signal, then I get several at once, and they all display the same receive time. This also happens when I turn it off at night, and start downloading messages in the morning.

I will try BES Express, and see if this helps.

I didn't know that outlook displayed the sent time as the receive time. For that matter I know it doesn't. The sent time is marked by the outgoing server as the time it processed it for sending. And the received time is marked by the incoming server as the time it processed it as received. If there is any delay ib between, you will be able to see the difference. As to the Blackberry - believe that it is the time the message is succesfully delievered to the BB. And as mentioned above you can see the Sent time when you open the email

In a nutshell, here's what I'm looking for-

If you were on vacation for 10 days (for example), left your computer off for that time, turned it on when you returned, and had all your messages downloaded into Outlook, they WOULD NOT all display today's date and time, since they would be sitting on the server waiting to be downloaded into Outlook, and would have the original date and time stamp that they were received by the server.

The same should go for BB (but maybe it doesn't)-if I turn my BB off for even 1 day, and turn it back on, all new emails will look like they came in AT THE SAME TIME, if there are several to be downloaded. How do I prevent this (or can I)?
