Default No system software...please help

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All, not sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes....

I have just received my 8700g (on O2) and am trying to install applications on it. When I connect it to the Desktop manager and try to use the application loader it reports that I do not have any system software loaded. From this point it says that any install file I try to use is not designed for my device.

Now, reading other posts relating to the same problem, I know this is something to do with the handheld software I also need to install on my PC. Maybe I am being really slow here, but where do I get this software from?

Please help, I am beginning to loose the plot now....

Many thanks to all......

Your carrier should have a link to the area of the RIM site where the software is. You must download the desktop software and the system software. It will be two separate downloads. It should also be on the CD that came with the unit.

The carriers have not included the handheld OS for quite some time on the included CD.

Clock199 - instructions on how to download and install the handheld OS are located here - BlackBerryOS 4.x Download FAQ - UPGRADE DOWNLOADS
