Red face Are all 7130e's alike?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there, I'm new here so bear with me.....

I just ebay'd a 7130e and went to have it activated at US Cellular. I did not notice that the 7130e that I bought is a Verizon one. Are all 7130e's alike? Or do I have to buy a 7130e for US Cellular? Methinks that US Cellular could just reprogram the network. Hmmmm, please advise experts! Thanks muchly.

US Cellular could program it to work on their network, but I believed they stopped activating handsets "designed" for other carriers about a year ago, if not more. In short, you won't be able to use it with USCC.

Default 7130e alike?

Thanks for the info..... So, can anyone point me in the right direction on how I can reprogram the phone myself? or someone who is willing to walk me through it? I think the network code for US Cellular is 1317 but I don't know where/how to change that.

Well, first you need the lock code from Verizon...good luck getting that. Your only hope is to call VZW and ask for it. Furthermore, if USCC indeed will only activate phones with their branding, it won't matter as the ESN of your Verizon 7130 will not be in their database, so it will not be able to be activated on the USCC network.
