I'm loading the software now and I noticed a new theme for Sprint and Verizon.

| cingular theme included? having never upgraded my 8700c (since cingular appears to not care about bugs) i have not delved into this process yet, but I see that there are plenty of instructions on how to do this. my question is this:
I like the cingular theme - is it included in the other vendor downloads? | | Offline

| I can't say for sure, but I would imagine that if you follow the instructions, and delete the Vendor.xml file, you'll have all available themes...including Cingular's.
Please post more about any/all changes in the new update! | | Offline

The new Verizon theme fits the 8700 screen, that's the indication. Quote: |

| FYI...unless you know what to do to edit your Blackberry.alx file, you should hold off trying to install this until the instructions are updated. Jibi mentioned that he'll probably have the updated .alx file done tonight.
Installing now...if anything epic happens as a result of the "upgrade", I'll report back. | | Offline

| i just installed the update. the only thing i've noticed so far is the addition of the bell and verizon themes. also, the dimenion zen theme font (denoting network and "EDGE") has somewhat changed in terms of spacing and thickness ("EDGE" letters no longer overlap when lowercase; they are slightly spaced. of course, it's invisible to the naked eye, but i like detail, so i noticed it.)
it's just tough that my mike is too sensitive that it picks up any and all background noise. is there a fix for it?

| Here's what I see so far...and it's not much...(some of it has been noted above...thought I'd put all my findings in one place, though). Oh, and I'm pretty much a Zen whore, so most of my observations will be with that in mind.
The Good:
- New themes: BB Dimension-Today (yes...included in the install, but no Voda-Today), Bell, Verizon, Sprint (though I'm not sure what the Sprint one's supposed to be. Just looks like Dimension-Icon to me)
- Updated look, though minor. In the Zen theme, little things, like the date, "Cingular" and "EDGE" at the top, are bigger, but not by much. Like the loss of hiding icon names from .284 to .309, the same applies here. However, "SMS Messages" is now just "SMS". Also, when you hit the middle convenience key to access the menu, scroll to the very bottom and notice a shortcut to "Organize Applications". Not sure if that was done in the .309 version (I went back to .284 long ago). Finally, the background of the profiles menu and the overall menu is slightly altered and cleaned up, IMO.
The Bad:
- Uh, where did the Notification Icon for BB Messenger go?!?! I get the sound, blinking red light, and have access to it, but there's not a little talk bubble icon to indicate that I have one or more Messenger IMs. WTF?
Final Verdict:
- Seems more stable than Telstra was (.309)...but I'm sure it will be up to personal opinion. No lag...no hang in my experience so far.
- For the first time...that I've noticed...I had the option to back-up/restore all my OTA and 3rd Party software, too...did so, and all I had to do was re-setup the programs, which I expected. I've made little changes lately, so I don't remember whether that was an option or not on the last upgrade I did.
More to come if anything becomes noticable... | | Offline
