Did you check the profile settings?

Yep, that is just how the 7290 ringer is. You can go into profiles and turn it up as loud as it will go, but it never gets very loud. The 8700 has a great ringer that is louder than you would believe, and impossible not to hear, but not the 7290.

Search on the boards for "loud ringtones"; there are a louder ringtones for the 7200 series. But the minimal ringtone support for those devices, there isn't much.
