Default E-Mail Question

Please Login to Remove!

I have an e-mail that is like [email address] which is on my website which is hosted by a server. To get the e-mails on my blackberry 8700 as well as in my inbox, what do I need to do? Is it as simple as getting the password to the server, and typing in my e-mail address under the enterprise activation area?

If not, how do I get these e-mails on my phone.

Thank you in advance.

Enterprise Activation is only used when you are on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, and the server admin gives you a special password to use to activate your BlackBerry.

There is an excellent FAQ at the top of the General BlackBerry Discussion forum which has details on all of the various methods for getting e-mail to your BlackBerry.

Do you use BES for email purposes? Or do you access your email via a POP3 account?

I am very new to this blackberry/e-mail stuff, and I don't quite understand what you mean.

I have a website which contains my e-mail address...it is not aol, yahoo, msn, etc...its it [email address]. How do I go about getting this on my phone? I can get whatever information I need from the server who is hosting my website.

Thank you.

You will need to setup the email account in the BIS. Depending on your carrier (Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobile) each has their own. Once you determine that, you can create an account for your blackberry in the BIS and then setup your remote email from there. The BIS supports POP3 and IMAP mail protocols.
