Exclamation BB7230 Expert Advise

Please Login to Remove!

I got my BB7230 from london with me to Dubai. I have bought it from Vodafone UK. I was wondering whats the solution for completely remove Vodafone from the BB and install new software to accept the Etisalat (Dubai Service Provider) sim card.

The second question, in the worst case sitatuon can i just erase everything on it and make it only a phone in UAE ??

Please can you advise me with details and links to software, as I never played with my BB before.

Apperciate all of your time and concern

You cannot remove the carrier branding, software reload or not it's hard coded into the device. You can erase all info in many ways 1. setup a pass for the device then enter it incorrect 10 time 2. from option --> security --> there's a handheld wipe option 3. Use the desktop manager. If you want to use another carriers SIM you need to unlock the device (Please search the forum for unlok or unlocking) as it has been discussed hundreds of times in multiple threads. Note if your current carrier does not off BlackBerry Data Plan you'll have no access to data, period. You might want to do a bit of homework on your purchase?

No need to change the software to accept another's carrier's SIM. In fact, changing the software doesn't hlep at all. What you want to do is to remove the network subsidy lock.
