I may have overlooked something obvious, but is it possible to have the 8700c change to the "silent" profile at a designated time? What I'm trying to do is have the BB go silent but still operational from 11pm to 7am. I see the auto on/off feature, but I don't want it to turn off completely...just stop notifying me of emails during the middle of the night.

I used the search and wasn't able to find anything about how to do this.

No can do. Rumor was that 3rd party software Notifier might add this but not sure if they did.

Really? I'm surprised something as powerfull as the 8700 can't go silent at night. What does everyone do...turn it off or keep it in another room so it doesn't beep/vibrate all night?

I use the holster during the day. When the BB is out of holster it is set to make no sounds whatsoever, except for a phone call. So I can keep it on my nightstand at night - out of the holster.

That's a good idea...one way to work around it.

Use the Auto On/Off to shut the device down at 11PM (for example) and back on at 7AM...

Normally, I leave it in the other room at night!! Got in that habit from my old 7290 buzzing the speakers everytime it checked for e-mail even if it was on silent.

When I am traveling with my 8700C, I just switch the profile to "phone only" as I lay it down so I don't get the vibration from e-mail but it still rings as a phone and works as my alarm.

at night same here: phone only and alarm for morn!

A friend of mine has a free app that he downloaded that allows his 8700 to go into silent mode between certain hours. Can't remember where he got it, but that's exactly what I need.
