Default Another E-Mail question

Please Login to Remove!

I finally figured out how to set up the e-mail on my phone. Now, I can send email from my address that is programmed in my phone, but...I cannot recieve it on my phone. I was sending myself test e-mails, and they would go to my inbox, but not to my blackberry.

Any idea what I can be doing wrong?

-Thanks.

Default E-mail Question - Multiple Links

We use Groupwise 6.5 here at the office. On my 8700 I now have 3 mail links,
1) Is the standard inbox called 'messages"
2) my Groupwise mail caled "name@domain.com" and
3) my Groupwise mail (1) (a duplicate of the one above).
They are all set up (albeit possibly incorrectly) to my Groupwise e-mail account.

I recieve e-mails in all three, but can only send e-mails in the latter two. This began because the "reply" function from the original message program would not allow me to send, only to save my draft. Our IT guy loaded the new service books, and the next thing you know, I have the duplicate account, but I can send e-mails.

My question is - how do I eliminate all but one icon/program and still send and recieve e-mail using my Groupwise account?

Thanks

You may just want to hide all icons except the "Messages" one. I don't think that the presence of the duplicate account will hurt anything (stress on "I don't think"), as long as you can send and receive on the account in the main Messages icon.

I bet someone here knows how to eliminate the duplicate account, though.

thanks -

That was the original problem which caused the duplication, I could recieve e-mails from the main "messages" program, but not always send. I could never reply.

It ran the service books, and viola, the second icon. It worked for a week or two and then the same sending problem began. Ran the service books again (I guess) and now I have a second icon. I can send from that second icon, but cannot from the original messages file. Again, all three get my e-mails.

Frustrating because I just traded my 7250 in, which never had a problem (other than Sprint service issues). If I could get rid of the duplicates, that would be great, as I already have enough icons for things I never use.

Thanks Again

I may not be reading closely enough, but I'm unclear if your GW accounts are set up through BIS or BES. It sounds like BIS because you have multiple mail account icons on your BB's home screen.

Something else useful to know would be what wireless carrier you're using (Sprint?).

Assuming it is BIS, did you set up your GW account yourself, or did your IT do it for you? If you did it yourself, here's something to consider: Try going to your BIS login and removing the GW account from it. This should make both GW account icons disappear from your BB. If it doesn't, you can remove the service book(s) for that account manually on your BB.

After that, re-add the account to BIS and see what happens. With any luck, just one new GW account icon should appear on your BB.

Anyway, if you clear up the BES/BIS/carrier details, one of the more technically astute forum members will be better able to help you.

do a hard reset - it will clear up that duplicate icon
if it doesn't clear your sevice book data base via desktop manager; sign into your BIS account and send yourself new service books
