7130e vs 7130c

Is there any significant difference in the hardware between the Verizon and Cingular models?

thx, David

Yes; one is CDMA (7130e) and uses the EVDO network and one is GSM based (7130c) and uses the EDGE network. Not interchangeable, like the 8700c and 8700g.

the 7130e doesn't use SIM cards, the 7130c does I believe.

Yes, the 7130c definitely does.

Or at least mine does...

All GSM and iDen phones and BBs use SIM cards. I think that has already been established.

yea its just different networks. They just change the name slightly so it won't confuse people who are trying to buy them..

That plus the fact that they are different technologies and different chipsets and, oh, never mind.

seanism 08-14-2006 09:03 PM

yea I think it would be a waste of keystrokes to explain all that stuff.
